Over the past few years, Walgreens, the pharmacy chain, has faced some challenges. By the end of 2023, the company's leaders announced they're shutting down 150 stores all across the country. This means over 500 workers will lose their jobs, which is around 10% of all the people who work for Walgreens. In a meeting where they discuss the company's finances, they talked about a store in Washington closing. They said it's because the economy isn't doing well and they didn't sell as much because fewer people were getting sick with coughs and colds. But Walgreens isn't alone in its struggles. Many other stores are also closing because it's hard to make enough money.

As part of the deal, everyone in the group that's affected can get up to $100. If anyone wanted to talk to Walgreens about their background check but couldn't because of the email saying they didn't get the job, they might get an extra $818. People have until May 23 to say if they don't want to be part of the deal or if they have a problem with it. The final decision will be made on July 23.
